The marine industry, along with other industrial segments, is rapidly moving down the path of using data and analytics to improve performance across reliability, safety, efficiency and productivity. This presentation will walk through real examples of how Caterpillar is helping it's customers to use data analytics to improve maintenance and operations. This improvement covers a wide range of uses cases, including reducing fuel consumption, predicting and avoiding failures, recovering from failures faster with remote troubleshooting, optimizing operations, avoiding downtime, and providing greater transparency into risks. Many owners and operators have begun to realize they need to focus not just on data, but on analytics to use that data to create value. These organizations are now focused on how do they incorporate data analytics into their business to capture this value.
