Devin Doring is the Technical Services Supervisor for the City of Salem s Public Works Department. He has led the department for a decade in strategic thinking in the utilization and application of a wide array of technologies including Aveva Pi, Geographic Information Systems, Internet of Things, data analysis, drones, remote sensing, and artificial intelligence. Doring s mission is to produce and ensure accurate and authoritative information, systems, technical expertise, and training for Public Works in the overall hopes of providing better and smarter service for the citizens of Salem.
Alain Dedieu is president of the water and wastewater segment for Schneider Electric. As such, he develops and leads the strategic growth vision of the water segment for more sustainability, efficiency and resiliency with digital solutions, and based on the deployment of the EcoStruxure platform for smart water.
Alain has a rich experience in automation and digitization integration in manufacturing industry driving business and technology adoption globally. He has been leading the strategy of the Industrial Automation Business for the last 3 years. Based in Switzerland and before that in Asia for the last 10 years, after a stay in the US, he also gained a global experience and knowledge of the different markets around the world.
Formerly based in Shanghai, he was Senior Vice President of the Industrial Control & Drives domain with responsibility for building and deploying the worldwide strategy and offer roadmap for HMI and variable speed drives technology. He was also responsible for the Automation China, a program relative to Industry and smart factory development.
Alain began his career in Automation and Drives sales. He then joined the drives activity and held various positions in marketing and offer management and was nominated Drives Activity VP. Alain joined the management team of the Industrial Control Business Unit to hold various operational positions before joining the North America management team where he held the position of Automation & Control Marketing Vice President, based in Chicago, Illinois.
Alain is a graduate from Ecole Spéciale des Travaux Publics de Paris, France, with a master s degree in electronics and electric engineering.
California Water Service Company
Jan Kooy is the Director, Asset Management at California Water Service (Cal Water), the largest regulated American water utility west of the Mississippi River and the third largest in the country. He has over 25 years experience in the water industry spanning control systems, engineering management, instrumentation and control. One of his key interests is using data and analytics to reduce energy consumption and improve sustainability. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Engineering from Harvey Mudd College.
