The Tyson Foods corn dog facility makes 120MM pounds of product annually while collecting data from all over the plant including utilities, processing, and packaging with over 1,500 data points. This plant leverages mobility on the plant floor for information to improve food safety and quality compliance, allow plant personnel to respond to changing production needs, and has cut waste by 50%. Solutions from OSIsoft, Rockwell Automation, and Microsoft increase plant visibility for the new Food Safety Modernization Act.

Jonathan Riechert
Jonathan Riechert is a Senior Engineer – Innovation - for the Corporate Engineering group of Hillshire Brands, now a subsidiary of Tyson Foods, where he is responsible for management of major capital projects focused on innovation and the primary resource for electrical controls and data collection systems. He has 15 years of experience in various engineering roles with CPG companies including the last 10 years with Hillshire Brands. He is the recipient of a 2016 Manufacturing Leadership Award for Mobility in Manufacturing and a past speaker at Rockwell’s RSTechED event, the IW Best Plants Conference, and SmartIndustry. Jonathan holds a BS in Biomedical Engineering from Purdue University and a MBA – Project Management from Mississippi State University.
