The line pack is the total quantity of natural gas in the pipeline at any time. The compressibility of natural gas allows the use of line pack to compensate for fluctuation of gas demand. Using linear programming models, GRTgaz optimizes its line pack, satisfying the demand fluctuation with minimum operational expenditures. This talk will show how the PI System helped GRTgaz apply a new real-time line pack calculation method.

Mr. Ziade has been a GRTgaz employee since 2011, when he started as an Application Business Owner, developing and improving the PI system. As an IT Project Manager, he currently manages testing of the new SCADA and also works as an operational backup on the PI system, helping teams by monitoring and testing new Osisoft products. He earned a Master’s degree in computer engineering from University of Paris 6 in 2011 and a Master’s degree in sustainable development management from the university of ENSIATE in 2012 ."
