Membrane production processes are very complex and require the availability of the right data at the right time. This has a direct impact on product quality and production efficiency. The main challenges are the storage of process data at a high resolution and integration of data from different process steps. One more challenge is the need to meet the growing customer requirements with regard to product quality and consistency. The benefits of PI System for process data aggregation, analysis and use in continuous real-time process monitoring and process optimization in combination with Sartorius Data Analytics Solutions will be shown.

Mark Egorov
Mark Egorov joined Sartorius in 2018 as a data scientist at the Product Development Unit of Membrane Technologies (now Separation Consumable Technologies) of Sartorius Bio-Process Solutions Division. The main focus of his work is process monitoring, process optimization and data analysis in the membrane production and product development. Before joining Sartorius Mark Egorov worked for many years as a data scientist at young high-tech companies in Germany, where he was mainly responsible for the development and application of advanced machine learning methods to various projects in pharma, chemical industry and medicine. Prior to that he worked as post-doctoral researcher at the Institute of Physical Chemistry of the University of Göttingen. He is a graduate of Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, and holds a M.Sc. in Physics and Applied Mathematics as well as a Ph.D. in Physics.
