PRESENTATION
2019 - PI World - San Francisco - Transmission and Distribution
RPU T&D Engineering and Operations Use of PI (City of Riverside)
RPU relies on a variety of information systems, applications and databases to support its daily business processes. The applications and databases used consist of commercial off-the-shelf applications, internally developed applications, databases and spreadsheets. These formats are not interchangeable, which makes generating reports and analyzing data cumbersome. The lack of central data management decreases staff efficiency and delays the decision-making processes. OSI PI has enabled RPU to integrate siloed data and supports historical archival and retrieval of this information. OSI PI has provided RPU the ability to view the distributed data sources as one consolidated dataset, maintaining data integrity, and providing the tools to exchange data within RPU’s business systems. Having the capability to capture real-time and historical information across RPU, with visualization and reporting tools that provide transparency, enables RPU staff to focus on improving overall performance.
