NASA Connected Assets and Predictive Analytics (Jacobs)
Jacobs operates and maintains facility infrastructure at NASA Langley Research Center as the prime contractor on the Center Maintenance and Operations and Engineering contract. The program is routinely benchmarked by near peers and is often globally cited as a leader in uptime and reliability. With tens of thousands of assets covering an 800 acre campus, including hundreds of buildings and 2.5 miles of underground infrastructure, this site is equivalent to the complexity of a small city. This award winning program optimizes invested capital by extending the life of critical assets, lowers OPEX budgets, and maximizes CAPEX opportunities like no other program in government or industry. Predictive analytics and Pi historian data is a large part of the success of this program and together with SAS, this session will demonstrate the power of edge analytics and machine learning.

Robert Poche
Robert is Vice President and Director of Asset Management for Jacobs Aerospace, Technology, and Nuclear line of business. He is an experienced asset management leader with over 16 years of experience in engineering, construction, and maintenance and operations (O&M) for industrial and commercial facilities. As a leader of large maintenance organizations at NASA facilities, his focus has been improving O&M by implementing Reliability Centered Maintenance principles and making design, construction, and O&M decisions based on the impact to the total cost of ownership. At NASA’s Michoud Assembly Facility, Robert led various change initiatives including restructuring of the O&M organization and implementing asset management and reliability best practices to provide a structured decision making process centered around the total cost of ownership. The results were reductions in facility operations costs of over 40% as well as significantly improved system performance. In addition to his work with NASA, he has implemented various asset management initiatives for other Department of Defense and Commercial Clients to lower the facility operations cost as well as improve the capital planning process. Robert is activelyworking to deploy connected facility solutions that leverage available data and utilize data analytics to improve decision making as part of the Jacobs Intelligent Asset Management Strategy. Robert is a Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) and a Certified Reliability Leader (CRL).
