The Bell Food Group (part of Coop) is pursuing a large-scale lean management offensive called TopX. Key figures, especially from the shop floor, are an essential component of TopX.
In the past, data collection was done by hand with paper and partly with Excel. Afterwards, key figures such as OEE were calculated in painstaking manual work. In order to support the digital transformation in this area, they decided to record and calculate the OEE key figure with the PI system. First, they developed a scalable data model to calculate availability, performance and quality factors. Where possible, the data is automatically collected from the plants and systems. Due to the very heterogeneous machinery in production, this is often not possible.
The Bell Food Group decided to develop their own app based on the PI System and the Microsoft PowerPlatform. They discuss their vision of digital transformation and present their experiences.
