Increasing reliability of Pulp and Paper operations with AVEVA Predictive Analytics and AVEVA PI System - Klabin
Seeking to guarantee and increase the availability of equipment and machines, Klabin Monte Alegre's maintenance engineering started a project whose challenge was to find a tool for early failure prediction. AVEVA Predictive Analytics emerged as an opportunity to leverage the analysis and identification of defects in assets, using machine learning to correlate several vital variables simultaneously. The critical assets selected for the application had a good level of sensing and historical data stored on the unit's PI System server. As a result of the application of the tools, 2M USD corrective maintenance cost avoided and also 30k ton of paper's production loss avoided.
Pedro Henrique Cantelli Goncalves
Pedro Gonçalves is a maintenance and reliability engineer from Klabin s Monte Alegre Mill. He has been working in this area for 9 years with a main focus on preventing and reducing failures of various types of plant assets. He has led several industry 4.0 technology development initiatives, such as IIOT sensors, and was also the technical lead in the implementation of AVEVA Predictive Analytics at the unit.

Edemilson Camargo is the Klabin's Puma Mill reliability and planning coordinator. He has a challenge with his team to find premature failures and reduce repetitive breakdowns. Edemilson Camargo has more than 18 years of experience in this segment, and so much results to be delivery with new technology available.
