Blockchain is regarded as a disruptive technology and has generated a great deal of hype very quickly. OSIsoft Research is currently researching blockchain and its potential for the Enterprise and Community. In this Live-Coding session we will introduce some of the concepts. We will discuss the concept of Smart Contracts and how they are implemented in Ethereum. We will write a distributed application on Ethereum with Solidity and .NET that uses data from the PI System together with Smart Contracts to monitor a temperature controlled Supply Chain. This session is targeted at developers who are new to blockchain and Ethereum and would like to know more.
