EDF & Metroscope, Monitoring and Diagnostics for Power Generation Assets
Presentation of EDF E-monitoring department and Metroscope as artificial intelligence solution provider. A complementarity solution leveraging the PI System & Aveva Predictive Analytics for monitoring of Power Generation assets. Metroscope is an eDF software startup founded in Paris in 2018, now in Germany and the USA with more than 60 assets equipped, whose mission is to improve the efficiency of industrial processes. Metroscope Monitoring & Diagnostic software, combining a Digital Twin and an inferential engine, enables industrial organizations to monitor efficiency in real time and to automatically identify failures and quantify their impact on performance. In 2020 alone, 2000GWh of energy losses were detected, the equivalent of 980000 tons of CO2.

Aurelien Schwartz
Aurélien SCHWARTZ is the CEO, co-founder of Metroscope, fast growing tech company with headquarters in Paris and committed to fight energy and maintenance waste in the industry. Former researcher in applied mathematics, Aurélien is the inventor of 2 patents on industrial diagnostics for which he won the best nuclear innovation award in France in 2019. Graduated from University of Strasbourg as an engineer on multi physics modelling he started his career with modeling of Fukushima daishi accident for the french Institute for Radiological Protection and Nuclear Safety before joing EDF Group. After a phD in Energetics I spent 9 years the EDF R&D departments Industrial process efficiency and Economic Studies . In 2017 I joined the EDF Thermal engineering eMonitoring Centre to work as an process engineer, contributing through remote monitoring of coal plants and CCGTs, providing services to survey and improve the energy efficiency of plants, developing indicators and optimizing maintenance through Early Default Detection service .
