Both the government and the trucking industry have an acute need for real-time data. The provision of real-time data will enhance mobility, reduce emissions, enhance regulatory monitoring, improve transportation asset condition monitoring, reduce resources required for system maintenance, increase the availability of information for performance measurement and facilitate electronic payments. The government in its recognition of the value of the trucking industry to the economy has included the commercial vehicle space under two broad approaches in its vision of the connected vehicle infrastructure. Vehicle to Vehicle (V2V) and Vehicle to Infrastructure (V2I). The focus of this talk is based on a pilot program under the V2I approach as it relates to the Over the Road (OTR) commercial vehicle space. The talk will discuss how PI System Connected Services and Esri ArcGIS running on Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure is being used under a pilot program with the DOT in the government V2I program to address two scenarios:
- Smart Roadside - Specific Dynamic Travel Planning and performance for the Over the Road commercial vehicle sector
- Mobility - FRATIS - Optimization of truck/load movements between point of shipping (shipper) and point of delivery (customer) facilities - providing balanced on demand OTR freight movement with engaged but independent freight movers (carriers)
Securing Industrial Control Systems (ICS) using OSIsoft PI System to aggregate data and process it through cyber security management systems to provide improved information assurance
The proposed pilot will demonstrate utilization of the DOT Project System Architecture in accordance with the Connected Vehicle Reference Implementation Architecture (CVRIA) adopted by the USDOT as the standard process and development guideline for the Connected Vehicle system developments. It will demonstrate how TIEMAC's CrewAccount application will make use of reference CVRIA with its different layers (Physical and Enterprise) with, physical objects and application objects interconnected.

Michael Treasure has had a successful 25+ year professional track record across multiple sectors and industries. Prior to founding TIEMAC, Michael has played key roles in several major technology business startups and mature companies at different stages of a business life cycle. Treasure has served as founder, CEO, SVP Program Manager & VP of Automation, Business Process, Finance, Budget and Reengineering and had held strategic management roles in Project Management and business analysis. Treasure holds a Bachelor's degree with honors in Mechanical Engineering from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Trinidad. He also holds a Master's degree in Computer Integrated Manufacturing Engineering from Loughborough University of Technology, Loughborough England; in addition, a MBA from Texas A&M University. Treasure received a post graduate certificate in Research Methods from Edinburgh Business School of Heriot-Watt University where he is also pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program. Michael also holds several professional certifications including Six Sigma Black Belt and Project Management certifications.
