Solution Approach
FogLAMP uses microservices on the edge for similar reasons microservices are used by cloud providers: scale-up, scale-out, extensibility, manageability, availability and security. FogLAMP’s pluggable modular architecture makes it easy to connect any/all sensors, IIoT and other equipment. Once the data is acquired, FogLAMP can aggregate, buffer, pre-processes, filter, enhance and alert before forwarding to where you need it to go. Connections to the PI System use OSIsoft’s Message Format (OMF). FogLAMP includes the only commercially available high performant implementation written in C or Python that makes the source code available to anyone. FogLAMP is a commercial product deployed by PI System users.
